​It is our goal to make the Dive Team a fun and safe way to learn diving and sportsmanship.

Diving promotes strength, flexibility, body awareness, focus and judgment—skills that are useful for all sports.

  • Divers can be 5-18 years of age.   We need boys and girls of all ages!
  • No diving experience is necessary!  We'll teach you!  For your safety, you will need to pass the Five Oaks swim test. 
  • We offer daily morning practices and two evening practices per week, so you can choose what works best for you! 
  • Your child is welcome is attend the first 4 practices for FREE, but he/she must register for an AAU number ($20 annually)​

​COACH’S CORNER 

Alice Totaro is a beloved former Five Oaks diver who is excited to now return to Five Oaks as a Coach.  A student at NYU over the school year, Alice is thrilled to return home to Catonsville this summer and bring her skills and love for the sport to the next generation of divers.  Alice joined the Five Oaks Dive Team at the age of 13 until the age of 18.  She also dove for the UMBC Rippin Dawgs Dive Club for two seasons. Alice looks forward to nurturing young divers to their full potential.  

Jackson Hayes brings extensive diving experience to the Five Oaks Dive coaching team.  He was a dedicated member of the Five Oaks Dive Team from 7 years to 18 years old.  He also spent a number of years at the UMBC Rippin’ Dawgs gaining valuable dive knowledge. A student at Virginia Tech, Jackson has a deep connection to Five Oaks and the program. He is excited to offer valuable feedback and help the program thrive.


Required Skills:
  • We compete exclusively on the 1-meter (low) board. We sometimes practice on the high dive, but it is not required to go off of the high board to be on the dive team. 
  • ​All new team members need to pass the deep water swim test before they register- tread water for 1 minute then swim 1 lap of the pool.

Single diver:                                       $ 135 (includes $20 AAU Fee)
Additional divers in same family:     $ 130 (includes $20 AAU Fee)  Please Note: Five Oaks does not offer a discount for children who join both the Swim and the Dive Teams.

Individuals who are not Five Oaks Swim Club members may join the Dive Team by purchasing a Dive Sports Membership
Single diver:                                       $ 240 (includes $20 AAU Fee and $105 Sports Membership Fee)

AAU
Five Oaks Dive Team is registering all divers with AAU.  The Dive Team will register all divers with AAU who have completed their registration paperwork before the first dive practice.  If you are registering for Dive Team on or after June 2, your diver will not be able to practice until we have registered him/her with AAU. .  

If your child has a current AAU card from another sport or if you have already registered with AAU in anticipation of the dive season please provide your AAU number and a copy of your AAU card upon registration with Dive Team.
